Benefits of the Incident Plan
The plan was developed to assist in the planning and implementation of an event or response to an emergency event.
Individuals assigned to the event will be shown as committed to the incident and not available to be rostered to other duties unless the assignment is overridden.
Avoids duplication. An individual cannot be assigned twice on the same day. If you try to assign an individual who is already rostered for a task, the system will provide a warning and give you the option to “Override”.
The plan (resource assignments) can be distributed to the members via the communications platform. By default, all people assigned to the plan will be included in the message. The IAP (w/maps) can also be attached to the comms message.
The incident plan can be printed and sent to others for review.
If catering, a “Print Meals” function was developed to assist with logistics.
The Incident plan can be exported into resource tables which can be copies and pasted in
the IAP.
The incident plan can be cloned if the incident continues for more than one day. i.e a burn
that lasts multiple days or a deployment.
Reportable: Once created we will be able to report on all incident plans. This has many
benefits including ensuring equity across assignments and reporting of effort for various activities.
