Consideration when building an Incident Plan

Where to assign staff: Workforce Roster or within Incident Planner

  • IMT Staff, Divisional Staff and Sector staff need to be assigned from within the incident plan.
  • Vehicle based or RAFT crews can be assigned in either location, however it is recommendedthey are assigned in the Workforce Roster
    • You can import vehicles into incident plan:
      • Staff assigned to a vehicle, or RAFT crew are best to be assigned to vehicles in the Workforce Roster and then once the incident plan is created, add the vehicles to the plan.
      • Individuals assigned to the vehicles will be automatically added when the vehicle is added to plan.
  • Tip: You can create the incident shell, add IMT staff, Div Comm, etc and then go work in the Depot roster to fill trucks. Then add trucks to the plan you created.

Resource plan completed vs searching for resources

There are a few considerations when building an incident plan. The most common consideration will be whether you know who will be on the plan or whether you need to search for available staff. Depending on the answer, this could alter how you build the plan. If you have a list of confirmed staff than you can build the incident and start assigning staff and vehicles. If you need to search for staff, there are several options.

How to search for resources

There are several ways in which you can search for staff. This includes in the Workforce Roster and in the incident plan.
